Marin County’s Financial Abuse Specialist Team (FAST) works to protect older adults from financial abuse, scams, and exploitation. Bringing together community volunteers and professionals from agencies including Adult Protective Services, law enforcement, and the District Attorney’s Office, FAST provides educational presentations to help individuals recognize, prevent, and report financial abuse.
The team also assists social service agencies and law enforcement in investigating suspected financial abuse by reviewing and analyzing financial records. Through education, collaboration, and community outreach, FAST helps safeguard older adults and promote financial security.
Mandy Reyes is a Senior Program Coordinator with the County of Marin Area Agency on Aging, where she has spent nearly a decade supporting programs and services that improve the lives of older adults in the community.
Gary Iorfido is a member of the Financial Abuse Specialist Team, where he trains members of the public on the scams and frauds we all face on a daily basis. He also volunteers with several other organizations, providing technology training to older Americans.
Mark Vanderscoff is a Public Guardian with the Office of the Public Guardian, Department of Health and Human Services.
